A/C compressor valves and refrigeration compressor valve plates are used to allow gas to flow into and out of the main chamber of the compressor. They work based on changes in pressure within the system: If the pressure below the valve is greater than that of the pressure below the valve (plus the force of the internal spring), then it opens. By functioning as a spring-loaded non-return valve, gas is only able to flow in one direction through the system. This allows the compressor to maintain pressurization in part of it while another part remains depressurized.
Our cast iron and brass king valves are designed for compressor suction and discharge ports.
Each compressor valve plate assembly comes complete with suction/discharge valves and valve plate/head gaskets.
